I’m currently working on final revisions for the last three Kindle episodes of Pieces of the Valley (THE SECRET OF CYPRUS FARMS, due to be released February 2nd 2021, THE THING IN THE CELLAR – June 8th 2021, and SWEENY’S RETURN – October 12th 2021). The rest of the scheduled releases (the remaining episodes of The Stone Spies and Valley of the Soul) are completed except for cover art and *everything is running on schedule*. Yay for that! You can see the full flowchart below, complete with titles and release dates. Fwiw, ALL of the remaining Kindle episodes should be available for pre-order, even though they don’t yet have official covers.

Putting out a project every six weeks—plus tucking in additional full-length novels (MORGAN’S RUN, FINDING THE BASSLINE, and SLIPPAGE) between episodes, oh my!—has been both rewarding and exhausting.

Often more exhausting, to be honest. I knew this was going to take quite a lot of time, but the learning curve has been substantial.

Indi publishing has been a MASSIVE learning experience for me. Keywords really kicked my butt for far too long, but I *think* I finally figured them out. Maybe. The same with integrating all the ‘similar but different’ names I’ve written under. I *think* they’re finally fixed. Hopefully. I still have a lot of things I need to do, so many things on my list—like starting a newsletter—have been set to the side because the *speed* of my release schedule has taken up so, so much of my working time. I haven’t had a full day off for more than a year and a half, haven’t touched my sewing machine for anything beyond clothing crisis repairs for longer still, and my office looks like a paper company exploded in it. But, if I can stay on track, and on task, every remaining Kindle episode should be finished, uploaded, and ready for covers by Christmas.

I am GOING TO SEW over Christmas break, shovel out the disaster that is my office, and just RELAX for about two weeks before I leap back into the breach and return to writing and publishing. I’m in the early stages of planning a series of Shadow Wars books, from back when Dubric, Albin, Oriana, Katarrine, Brushgar, Tunkek, and the rest were young. It’ll probably be four full-length novels, at least that’s what my very-preliminary notes suggest, but I won’t know for sure until I actually get into the meat of them.

I’m also currently planning on shifting everything to wide distribution next year, a few releases at a time, so everyone who doesn’t use a Kindle or shop Amazon will get to read the multi-timeline series too. I’m still debating whether or not to move all of the episodes into print because, frankly, print isn’t selling, digital is, and covers cost money. But we’ll see how it all shakes out.

That said, WEIGHT OF THE CASTELLAN’S CURSE’s ebook will BE FREE and STAY FREE on all digital platforms sometime in January, so if you’re thinking about buying it, it’s okay to hold off a while. I’ll post more info and links when I have a definite date. I’m also considering making digital ‘box sets’, (essentially combining the episode sets into novels—Winter of Ghosts will be seriously huge!), but that probably won’t happen until well into 2021 if there’s reasonable interest beyond the couple of people who’ve asked me about such things. If I do it, they’d start as digital releases then *maybe* move to print, depending on sales.
